Doctor Who survey

Two (sort of three?) questions: Who was the first Doctor you watched? Who do you consider “your Doctor”? If they’re different, any thoughts on why?

  1. usumcasane answered: Matt Smith and Matt Smith.
  2. stevesmithis answered: 9 was my first, 10 is my Doctor. I connected with him almost immediately. 9 I had to warm up to.
  3. mintypineapple answered: William Hartnell. Hartnell or Tennant. They’re pretty much the only ones I’ve watched save for Eccleston.
  4. tramtheram answered: My first experience was “The five doctors” as such I don’t actually have a doctor but love him/them as a whole.
  5. lessaismore answered: Christopher Eccleston all the way. I liked how angry he was, but how quickly he could smile too and how badass he was in that leather coat
  6. lifelikeaninsomniac answered: The Three Doctors (BOOM). 4th. They were younger and older - and you get more techie fun jargon with Baker. And more TARDIS. Whole episodes.
  7. wafflesandpain answered: #9 Was the first Doctor I watched.
  8. ajmortys answered: 9, 10. Tennant just had more of a lasting impression on me. He’s cooler, funnier, and smarter imo.
  9. saunteringvaguelydownwards answered: The first Doctor I ever watched was Jon Pertwee. MY Doctor is Sylvester McCoy. It might be because I identify with Ace, but I’m not sure
  10. shadylane13 answered: 10 (David Tennet), 11 (Matt Smith), and becuase I only saw 2 epi of 10, I didnt get into it til 11. Ii love all of them though.
  11. squishyapocalypse answered: First watched: #9. My Doctor: #10. I guess I feel like 10 had more passion.
  12. 4fingerknifehand answered: never seen it, dont have one, not a good show
  13. starstealer answered: 9 was my first Doctor. And I thought Ten was my Doctor, but I’m loving 11, but Ten & Donna man…perfect team.
  14. akittenatemycouscous answered: 1) Jon Pertwee. 2) Tom Baker AND Matt Smith! 3) TB was “my” Doctor when I was a kid - but I adore MS’s Doctor & Steven Moffat’s writing. :)
  15. thevacuuminator answered: in order: 9. 11. 11 is way more happy then 9.
  16. waffleironinmeltdown answered: first doc was #9 (Eccleston), and my doc is TENnant :) mainly because of his and rose’s storyline together
  17. comfysexuality answered: Answer for both #4 - Tom Baker. First one I ever saw when i was a kid. I have all his to-date released DVDs thus far. :D
  18. xaiados answered: When I was a toddler, My mom used to watch Tom Baker. I didnt get back into it till 07 with Tennant. My Doctor, is unabashedly Matt Smith.
  19. stuview answered: First doctor watched: Peter Davidson. I wouldn’t say I have “my Doctor”, I just enjoy the stories.
  20. mathsquerading answered: Seventh. I think, of those I’ve seen, each Doctor has had his own quirks that just fit… I can’t pick any over the others.
  21. truenovember answered: 9th Doctor was my first. I think 11th is my Doctor. I have been conditioned to love tweed, fez, bowtie and mop. Lol
  22. falius answered: Tom Baker, Sylvester McCoy, I watched it in the days before dvds and we watched whatever dr was broadcast
  23. anome answered: 1: Jon Pertwee. 2: Tom Baker. 3: Tom Baker was the Doctor at a crucial time in my development, and for so long. See reblogged answer.
  24. lisahpg answered: 1) Christopher Eccleston. 2) Matt Smith, simply as I am an Amy Pond cosplayer, so am most attached to him as a Doctor, as Amy would be :)
  25. dlastspacecowboy answered: 10, then 9 then 11. 10 is the real one because he has a heart whereas 11 had the quirkiness i like but 9 was too welsh for me.
  26. gallifreyancorset answered: usually your 1st doctor, but my introducer was so excited about 10 that i had to watch series1&2 alternating episodes, so i had 2 firsts
  27. softcovernotebook answered: Pertwee and Tennant, though Pertwee is a close second, time lord kung fu
  28. magusworkshop answered: Baker, Baker closely followed by Tenant, because they’re the best ones. :D
  29. apopelectric answered: 10th, favorite is 9th. I haven’t seen many other doctors, but 9 is very sweet but stern - sort of a father figure type. 10’s fun but selfish.
  30. greatwhitebear answered: The first Doctor I watched was the Ninth, because he’s the first season Netflix has. “My” Doctor, however, is Eleven. :)
  31. kagome-mizuno answered: Just answered this, lol. A Christmas Carol (Smith), Smith, and Eccleston was nice if dull, Tennant too static for me, Smith…has variety.
  32. bouncetender answered: My first Doctor was the first Doctor. I’d like to say 10 but I don’t like they way they had him interact with his companions.
  33. davidtennantsballsack answered: 1. 9. 2. 10. 10 is my Doctor because I didn’t become a complete fanatic until he came along.
  34. whatmakesmeexplode answered: Eccelstone was my first, Tennant is my favourite. He just captured my imagination more than any other and got me into cosplaying.
  35. yourpersonalpenguin answered: Christopher Eccleston and he is my Doctor.

  38. inflatedmoose answered: 1) 9 2) 10 and 5 3) I really do love 9. I don’t think he gets enough love, but 5 and 10 are just…snugglier?
  39. xanadoesthings answered: 5th Doctor. He looked snazzy in that suit with the sweater vest and hat.
  40. kimssceneinvestigation answered: my first doctor is the Doctor, Emergency Medical Hologram Mark I on Star Trek: Voyager. My second and favorite doctor is doctor Leonard McCoy
  41. elrincondeladios answered: Tom Baker aaaand I don’t consider any of them “my doctor”. All of them have something that special.
