I like that. It’s a far better question than “who would you die for”, I think, because there’s such romance inherent in dying for someone, but it’s so unlikely to ever be necessary. It’s easy to make melodramatic proclamations, when you don’t think you’ll ever have to follow through. But who would you be up for in the middle of the night? Who would you gladly inconvenience yourself for, sacrifice sleep and time, on whatever pretext they might ask? Because that’s more likely. That’s more real. That’s more meaningful.
There are definitely people out there I’d be glad to do that for. I hope they know it.
