Draw me something. :D I don't even care if it sucks.
When I was in sixth grade, we had to take an art class. It was all about getting us to draw everything in this weird cartoon-y 3D style. For some reason, I’m just not great at anything involving putting pen or pencil to paper- thank god for keyboards- so this was basically the worst class I ever had to take. Sixth grade was when I started to realize that school kinda sucked.
But at least one drawing stuck with me, so you get a crappy 3D pennant. In honor of your new icon, you get a poorly drawn bear paw on it. (I felt the need to explain, because if I looked at that, I wouldn’t be sure what it was, and I drew the damn thing. It kinda looks like a mustache?)
Oh, also I only have my cell phone, so the picture quality doesn’t help.
And before anyone else asks, I ain’t drawing anything else. She asked first, I like her, so she gets the only picture. This interview is over!
Favorite music video - Tying in with a previous answer, The Ghost Inside by Broken Bells. Favorite quote - Again, I have a lot. Here’s one I love from Stephen Fry: ”And a note to self that we must tread carefully if we wish not to give gratuitous offense, and even more carefully if we do wish to give it.” Who would I like to be? Me, but a little more… Focused? I mean, things in my life aren’t necessarily. But there are some pretty freaking awesome things about my life that I wouldn’t want to give up. Oh, and if I could have superpowers, too, that’d be awesome. Something from the teleportation or telepathy schools would be cool.
Favorite old musician - Easy question, Johnny Cash. Favorite book - And impossible question. No way I can pick one, and I usually go with a more recent book, so I’ll go with… Childhood’s End by Arthur C. Clarke. My grandmother bought me a copy of it and I loved it.
Favorite word- I can’t pick just one. I have a love for words. Exquisite is the first one that comes to mind, it’s just fun to say. 3 words that describe me the most - Sarcastic, passionate, learning. Craziest thing I ever did - Uh, every time I ever got up the nerve to actually talk to a girl I had a crush on. Sexiest person alive - To me, at the moment, I’ll say Christina Hendricks. Unf doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Even absolutely empty blue sky is lovely to me. I have time to kill this afternoon, so I stopped at the Phoenix library, and there’s some big windows, so I’m just enjoying the air conditioning and watching the sky and some workers installing solar panels in the parking lot. It’s kind of nice.
“Those words are standard sixth grade English, how do you not know this?”
“We didn’t learn that shit and we aren’t nerds.”
I have moments like this all the time. Not necessarily from big words, but from lots of other things. Like when I tell stories that are apparently uninteresting to most people, that are highly interesting to me, and people call me on it. Long rants about philosophy and conspiracy theory that end with someone telling me, “Normal people don’t sit around and think about things like that all the time.”
“Well, what the hell do you think about?!”
This always depresses me. Come on, people, if you aren’t willing to at least try and expand your vocabulary and your minds, then what are you doing with your time on this planet? Explore, people. Learn. Think.
